Não Porto
An experiment: make a small intervention in the city I live — Porto — regarding a new emerging way of living and seeing the city, more closely to a brand and all its marketing plans. “Não Porto.” means “No Porto.” using the same image as the new graphic identity of Porto. “Não Porto.” is a statement for a city that is no longer my own and is more for foreigners than for locals; a city that is so clean and neat that there aren't any posters in the street anymore; everything is being placed in is own place, nice a simple — and expensive, of course. This project started with the idea of placing seven posters around the city with a photograph of a dictionary and seven words found in it. During the process it became so much more than that. No more stickers, no more illustrations out of place, no more random and artsy communication and I haven't realized that until I start doing this. “Não Porto.” was a thing that I created for fun and in a playful moment but now I think it became structured and focused. • FBAUP November 2016
